Inari, Lake

Lake in the extreme north of Finland, in the province of Lappi; area 1,153 sq km/445 sq mi. It is rich in fish and contains more than 3,000 islands. The small town of Inari on the shore of the lake is a centre of the Saami culture of Lapland and the seat of the Finnish Saami parliament.

Lake Inari is the world's second-largest lake inside the Arctic Circle.
