Ince, Paul Emerson Carlyle (1967– )| English footballer. An energetic, hard-tackling midfield player, he made his full international debut in September 1992 and the following June became the first black footballer to captain England. He played for West Ham United 1986–88, Manchester United 1989–95, and Inter Milan 1994–97, before joining Liverpool at the start of the 1997–98 season. In July 1999 he was transferred from Liverpool to Middlesbrough, and moved to Wolverhampton Wanderers in August 2002. During his six years at Manchester United, he won five domestic trophies, including the League and FA Cup double in 1994, as well as the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1991. In June 2008, he became the first black manager in the English Premier League when he was appointed manager of Blackburn Rovers. |

| In August 2006, he signed a contract with Swindon Town as player-coach, but in October he was appointed player-manager of Macclesfield Town. In June 2007, he became manager of the Milton Keynes Dons. |
