Inchcolm

Island in the Firth of Forth, forming part of Fife unitary authority, Scotland; population (2001) 2. An Augustinian monastery founded by Alexander I in 1123 is located on the island; the church, chapter house, refectory, cloisters, and a square tower are still preserved. An ancient stone-roofed oratory, reputedly a hermit's cell, lies in the vicinity.

The Earls of Murray (or Moray) take their title of Lord St Colme, granted in 1611, from the island.

Byline: ANI London, August 24 (ANI): Conservationists working at Inchcolm Island, in the Firth of Forth in Scotland, have found the remnants of a special sundial that they believe may have been carved into a wall so that the Scottish could measure time.
