Incline Village

    0.04 sec.

Incline Village

Unincorporated community in Washoe County, western Nevada; population (1990, including Crystal Bay, immediately to the west) 7,100. Incline Village is situated 16 km/10 mi northwest of Carson City, on the northern shore of Lake Tahoe and near the California state line.

Incline Village is named after Incline Mountain, down which a tramway was built in the 1870s to transport timbers for the Comstock Lodes mines. The settlement was given a new lease of life in the 1960s as a prosperous lakeside and mountain resort, and now has mansions, apartment blocks, and a casino.
