Indiana County

Administrative district in west-central Pennsylvania; area 2,147 sq km/829 sq mi, population (1990) 90,000. Indiana County is bounded to the south by the Conemaugh River, and has its seat at Indiana. It is a coalmining and stone-quarrying area, and also has some agriculture and manufacturing, particularly in the city of Indiana.
