secondment

Transferring an employee from one part of the workforce to another, or possibly to another company within a group. This is in order to further the individual's career development, to meet a recruitment need of the department or company they are seconded to, or to find employment for the individual if they are no longer required to perform their existing job. Although secondment is often temporary, it may also be permanent.
