Ingegneri, Marc Antonio (c. 1545–1592)

Italian composer. He learnt music from Vincenzo Ruffo at Verona Cathedral and, around 1570 became maestro di cappella at Cremona Cathedral. Monteverdi was his pupil there.

Works

two books of Masses, three books of motets, one of hymns and eight of madrigals; also 27 responsories for Holy Week (long attributed to Palestrina).
