Ingersoll, Royal (Eason) (1883–1976)

US naval officer who was the communications officer for the US delegation to the Versailles Peace Conference 1918–19. He was commander of the Atlantic Fleet 1942–44, and the landings in North Africa in 1942 were carried out under his general authority.

He was born in Washington, DC.
