Spa town in Bydgoszcz province, Poland, 45 km/28 mi south of Bydgoszcz; population (1990) 76,600. Industries include engineering, glass, sugar, and brass; and salt and gypsum are mined in the district. The town was part of Prussia 1772-1919.
