insectivore

Any animal whose diet is made up largely or exclusively of insects. In particular, the name is applied to mammals of the order Insectivora, which includes shrews, hedgehogs, moles, and tenrecs.

According to the Red List of endangered species published by the World Conservation Union for 1996, 36% of insectivore species are threatened with extinction.
