interactive media

In computing, new technology such as CD-ROM and online systems which allow users to interact with other users or to choose their own path through the material.

The newest attempts to create interactive media are books published on the World Wide Web which allow readers to use hyperlinks to move around the material at will in the order they choose. Other interactive media include plans for films and other projects which allow viewers to choose how to follow the story, which characters to focus on, or which plot threads to follow.
