International Labour Organization

Specialized agency of the United Nations, originally established in 1919, which formulates standards for labour and social conditions. Its headquarters are in Geneva, Switzerland. It was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1969. By 1997, the agency was responsible for over 70 international labour conventions.
