International Labour OrganizationSpecialized agency of the United Nations, originally established in 1919, which formulates international labout standards in such areas as freedom of association, wages, hours and conditions of work, social insurance, and industrial safety. It has a tripartite structure in which representatives of governments, employers and workers participate. Its headquarters are in Geneva, Switzerland.
