A member of the International Standards Organization, Seiberlich is working with the International Maritime Organization on container security. Guideline preparation drew largely from information from the International Maritime Organization Marine Environment Protection Committee on ship recycling and from the International Chamber of Shipping standard inventory of potentially hazardous materials aboard vessels and code of good practice for shipowners. Coast Guard have participated in regional seminars and workshops on piracy and armed robbery, and have contributed to the writing of circulars for the United Nations' International Maritime Organization (IMO). |
