International Organization for Standardization

Global federation of national standards bodies from over 130 countries, with one body for each country. The ISO is a non-governmental organization, established in 1947, and its mission is to promote globally the development of standardization of technical terms, specifications, and units, and other related activities. The work of the ISO results in international agreements, which are published as International Standards. Its headquarters are in Geneva, Switzerland.
