Invergordon

Small town in Highland unitary authority, east Scotland, situated on Cromarty Firth, 21 km/13 mi north of Inverness; population (2001) 3,900. It possesses a large distillery and an aluminium smelter, and was the site of a former naval base. It was the scene of the Invergordon Mutiny in 1931.
