    0.03 sec.

Inwood, Henry William (1794-1843)

English architect, the son of a London architect, under whom he trained. As his father's partner he won a competition in 1818 for the design of St Pancras Church, London (1819-22), which was a major building of the Greek Revival in England.

The church has a classical portico and steeple, and caryatid porches copied from engravings of the Erechtheum (an ancient temple in Athens). After the building was started Inwood spent some years travelling in Greece.
