Irish Sea

Arm of the North Atlantic Ocean separating England and Wales from Ireland; area 103,600 sq km/39,990 sq mi. Its greatest width, between Morecambe Bay, Lancashire, and Dundalk Bay, Louth, is 240 km/150 mi. It joins the Atlantic to the south by St George's Channel and to the north by the North Channel.
