Irondequoit

Town in Monroe County, western New York State; population (1990) 52,400. Irondequoit is located on the southern shore of Lake Ontario; to its east lies Irondequoit Bay. This largely residential town is almost surrounded (on the north, west, and south) by the conurbation of Rochester.
