Irwin, Will

Irwin, Will (William Henry) (1873–1948)

US journalist who was an outstanding reporter for the San Francisco Chronicle, the New York Sun, and McClure's Magazine 1901–07. He won renown for his knowledgeable coverage of the San Francisco earthquake of 1906. He was a World War I correspondent for the Saturday Evening Post, and also wrote fiction, biography, and other works.

He was born in Oneida, New York.
