Isabella of France (1292–1358)

Daughter of King Philip IV of France, she married King Edward II of England in 1308, but he slighted and neglected her for his favourites, first Piers Gaveston (died 1312) and later the Despenser family. Supported by her lover, Roger de Mortimer, Isabella conspired to have Edward deposed in 1327 in favour of her son, Edward III, and murdered.
