Isard, Walter (1919- )

US economist. He was the first modern economist to apply the economics of location, also known as ‘regional science’, to industry. He taught at the University of Pennsylvania 1956-71 before moving to Cornell University as professor of regional science and peace science.

He was born in Philadelphia.
