Isepp, Martin (1930– )

Austrian-born English keyboard player and conductor. He studied at Oxford and the Royal College of Music, London, and worked for the English Opera Group in the 1950s. He has been on the music staff at Glyndebourne from 1957 (head of music staff 1978–93), conducting operas by Mozart at the festival and with GTO. He was head of opera training at Juilliard 1973–77, and head of music studies at the National Opera Studio from 1978. He has accompanied such singers as Janet Baker, Söderström, and Schwarzkopf in recital, and was director at the William Walton Foundation on Ischia in 1992.
