Isle of the Dead, The

Symphonic poem by Sergei Rachmaninov, after a painting by Arnold Böcklin; it was composed in 1907 and first performed in Moscow, Russia, on 1 May 1909. Like many of Rachmaninov's works, it prominently features the Dies Irae melody.
