Locator map for the Dodecanese, a group of Greek islands. The islands are situated in the Aegean Sea and include Rhodes and Kos.

Group of islands in the Aegean Sea; area 2,663 sq km/1,028 sq mi; population (1991 est) 162,400. Once Turkish, the islands were Italian from 1912 to 1947, when they were ceded to Greece. They include Rhodes and Kos. Chief products include fruit, olives, and sponges.
