Opera by Catterino Cavos (libretto by Prince A A Shakhovskoy), first produced in St Petersburg, Russia, on 31 October 1815. The subject is that on which Mikhail Glinka's Life for the Tsar was based in 1836. It is also the title given to Glinka's Life for the Tsar in Soviet Russia.
