Ive (or Ives), Simon (1600–1662)

English singer, organist, and composer. He held the post of vicar-choral at St Paul's Cathedral in London. He was singing-master during the Commonwealth, and returned to St Paul's in 1661. In 1633 he took part, with William Lawes, in the composition of Shirley's masque The Triumph of Peace. Other works include an elegy on the death of William Lawes, catches and rounds, fancies, and other instrumental works.
