Iverson, Ken (Francis Kenneth) (1925– )

US industrialist. He joined what became the Nucor Corporation in 1962, being president and chief executive 1965–85, and chairman in 1985. His introduction of high technology in the first US ‘mini’ steel mill in Darlington, South Carolina, in 1969 and in an innovative flat-rolled steel plant in 1989 revitalized the US steel industry.

Born in Downers Grove, Illinois, he worked in industrial research, technology, and marketing.
