Ives, Chauncey Bradley

Ives, Chauncey Bradley (1810–1894)

US sculptor. He worked in Boston 1837–c. 1841 and New York City c. 1841–44, studied in Florence, Italy 1844–51, then settled in Rome. He is known for his classical marble figures, such as Egeria 1876.

Born in Hamden, Connecticut, he began his career as a woodcarver.
