Jackson, Francis (1917- )

English organist and composer. He studied at Durham University and with Edward Bairstow, whom he succeeded as organist at York Minster in 1946. He is well known as a recitalist, most often heard performing Vierne and Franck. His own works include a Te Deum and Jubilate (1964), Symphony in D minor for orchestra, and Sonata giocosa for organ (1972).
