Jackson, Martha

Jackson, Martha (c. 1907–c. 1969)

US art dealer. She was the owner and director of the Martha Jackson Gallery, New York City 1953–69, and president of Red Parrot Films c. 1964–69. She was known as an early supporter of the paintings and sculptures of abstract expressionists.

Born in Buffalo, New York, she studied at Smith College 1925–28 and at Moore College of Art, Philadelphia, in 1969.
