Jacksonville Beach

City in Duval County, northeastern Florida, on the Atlantic Ocean; population (1990) 17,800. Governed under the Jacksonville–Duval County charter, it is a beachfront resort lying 19 km/12 mi east-southeast of downtown Jacksonville.
