Jacques, Reginald (1894-1969)

English organist and conductor. He studied at Oxford and held various posts there before founding the Bach Choir, London, in 1931, which he conducted until 1960. He founded the Jacques Orchestra in 1936 and gave many wartime concerts. He is well known for performances of the Bach passions with traditional forces and style.
