Jagel, Frederick (1897–1982)

US tenor. He studied in New York and Milan and made his debut in Livorno in 1924, as Rodolfo. After appearing widely in Italy he sang at the New York Metropolitan Opera House from 1927, making his debut as Radames. He appeared in San Francisco from 1931, and Buenos Aires 1939–41. He sang the title role in the first professional US performance of Peter Grimes.
