Surely a good Northern Irishman would know that James II of England was the brother of Charles II, not his son (Charles II having had no legitimate offspring).
Charles was the grandson of James II of England, whose conversion to Catholicism in 1671 precipitated the events that led to his losing the throne to William and Mary of Orange in 1688.
