James of Rusholme, Eric John Francis James, Baron James of Rusholme (1909–1992)

British educationist. He was assistant master at Winchester College, (1933–45), High Master at Manchester Grammar School (1945–62), and vice-chancellor at the University of York (1962–73). James was educated at Taunton School and Queen's College, Oxford University. His publications include Education and Leadership (1951). He was knighted in 1956 and made a life peer in 1962.
