Jamnagar

City in Gujarat, India, on the Gulf of Kutch, 270 km/170 mi southwest of Ahmadabad; population (2001) 447,700. It produces cement and textiles, and there are salt pans and pearl fisheries - until the 20th century among the largest in the world. Its port is at Bedi.
