Janků, Hana (1940– )

Czech soprano. She made her debut at Brno in 1959 and later sang at Prague. Wider recognition came in 1967, with her performance in Turandot at La Scala and Vienna. She performed with the Deutsche Oper Berlin from 1970 as the Trovatore Leonora, and as Gioconda, Ariadne, and Elisabeth. In 1973 she appeared at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, as Tosca. Other roles include Lady Macbeth and Smetana's Milada.
