Jarmo

Prehistoric village site near Sulaimaniya, Iraq. Excavation at the site has revealed an important Neolithic culture dated by radiocarbon to between 4950 BC and 7090 BC. Traces of domestic goats and dogs and cultivated wheat and barley were found, indicating that it is the site of one of the earliest known village farming communities.
