Java 3D

In computing, a set of special 3-dimensional graphics functions built into the latest version of the Java programming language. Java 3D allows programmers to develop 3D models and virtual worlds. Because Java programs are portable, and can be run using a Web browser, Java 3D is becoming a serious alternative to another computing language, VRML, for developing Web-based virtual worlds.

In a joint effort with Sun and Apple, JPL's Maestro development team used Java3D and Java Advanced Imaging (JAI) to develop a downloadable viewer for the public to witness the landing of the Spirit Rover on Mars.
It consists of game programming lectures and hands-on tutorials in C/C++ Game Programming, General Game Development Techniques, Microsoft's DirectX 9 and DirectX Game Programming, OpenGL Game Programming, Network Game Programming, 3D Game Programming, Java Game Programming including Java3D, as well as lots of techniques and tricks.
DALiWorld currently requires both Java and Java3D to function in 3D mode.
