Jennings, Humphrey (1907–1950)

English documentary film-maker. He introduced a poetic tone and subjectivity to factually based material. He was active in the General Post Office Film Unit from 1934, and his wartime films, which vividly portrayed London in the Blitz, include London Can Take It (1940), This Is England (1941), and Fires Were Started (1943).
