Jensen, Peter Laurits

Jensen, Peter Laurits (1886–1961)

Danish-born US audio engineer. With Edwin Pridham, he developed the first dynamic horn loudspeaker 1914–15, called ‘Magnavox’, and helped found the Magnavox Company in 1917. During World War I, he developed an antinoise microphone that could be heard over engine roar. In the 1920s he worked on improving sound fidelity. In 1943 he founded Jensen Industries.

Born near Stubbekobing, he went to the USA in 1909.
