Jerash![]() Jarash, Jordan, was one of the cities of the Decapolis, a confederation of ten Roman cities dating from the 1st century BC. This vast and spectacular city, which lay on the southeastern frontier of the Roman Empire, is famous for both its well-preserved town plan and individual monuments. This is the Nymphaeum, which served as a public fountain and Temple of the Nymphs.
