Jerez de la Frontera

City in the province of Cádiz in Andalusia, southwest Spain; population (2001) 183,300. It is famed for sherry, the fortified wine to which it gave its name. The numerous wine warehouses (bodegas) are a feature of the city, and there are Moorish remains here.
