Jesse, F(riniwyd) Tennyson (1889–1958)

English novelist. Her books include The Milky Way 1913, The White Riband 1921, Moonraker 1927 (about a female pirate), Tom Fool 1926 (a Cornish historical novel), and A Pin to See the Peepshow 1934. She also published several collections of short stories and co-wrote a number of plays.

During World War I she was a freelance newspaper correspondent. In 1918 she secretly married H(arold) M(arsh) Harwood (1874–1959), and subsequently worked with him on several plays, including Billeted 1920, The Pelican 1926, and How to be Healthy Though Married 1930, as well as a series of letters of World War II to US friends, collected as London Front 1940 and While London Burns 1942. A Pin to See the Peepshow is based on a 1922 murder case, and she also edited several volumes in a series called Notable British Trials.
