Johnson, John (c. 1540-1595)

English lutenist and composer. He was attached to Queen Elizabeth I's court and possibly also to the household of Sir Thomas Kitson at Hengrave Hall, Suffolk, and in London 1572-74. He took part in the Earl of Leicester's entertainments at Kenilworth Castle in 1575. He wrote lute solos and duets.
