Johnson, Martin W(iggo) (1893-1984)

US oceanographer who made major contributions to biological and military science by investigating invertebrate-produced underwater sounds and acoustic signal reflections.

He was born in Chandler, South Dakota. He was an associate of the University of Washington 1933-34 and was at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography 1934-61.
