Johnstown Castle

Multi-towered Victorian castle at Murrinstown, County Wexford, Republic of Ireland. The present castle, dating from about 1840, was built around an older property that formerly belonged to the Esmonde family. It was designed in the Gothic and Norman styles by Daniel Robertson of Kilkenny for the member of Parliament H K Grogan-Morgan. The original medieval tower house at the heart of the structure was owned by Cornelius Grogan, who was executed after the Rebellion of 1798. The castle is now an agricultural institute.
