Jones, Freddie (1927– )

English actor. Since his distinguished performance as Claudius in television's The Caesars (1968), he has starred in The Ghosts of Motley Hall (1976–78), District Nurse (1987), and Mr Wroe's Virgins (1993). His film work includes Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed (1969), The Satanic Rites of Dracula (1973), All Creatures Great and Small (1974), and The Elephant Man (1980).

Jones was born in Stoke-on-Trent, and gave up work as a laboratory assistant after winning a scholarship to train at the Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama. He has guest-starred in dozens of television series.
