Jones, Mary Cover

Jones, Mary Cover (1896-1987)

US psychologist. She did important research in developmental psychology and worked with behaviourist John B Watson. In 1924 she published a landmark study on deconditioning fear. She conducted research at the University of California, Berkeley from 1927 and organized the long-term Oakland Growth Study on adolescents.

Born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, she studied at Vassar and Columbia University.
